Your painting is diffeantly getting better.Love how clean it is. Dang I wish I could paint that clean! GRRrr.
The only problem I have with it is that he doesn't quite look like he's on the Log. Proberly due to the lack of detail compared to him.
Here's a little tip (that I'm sure you know of already): When painting two objects that are interacting with one another, give them both the same amount of detail. Otherwise it'll look fake. Add a lot more detail like fine lines and spinters. The Suit weighs at least a ton, That much weaight should show in the log he's crouch apone. Look at my unfinished Halo2 painting. Master Chief and the tree are both interacting with each others. If I didn't give the tree much detail (like the back wall) then it'll look cheap and fake.

Great work, though, the lighting is perfect, how the blue reflects slightly on the lower angles of his armour! Such attention to detail makes it look so much more real...
